In this Buddhist Geeks' Life Retreat we’ll turn away from meditative techniques and toward the capacity of “choiceless awareness.” This choiceless aspect of awareness is operating no matter what you’re doing, whether you’re mindful or distracted, focus or confused, awake or asleep. Because of this it is–as Ajahn Sumedho points out–a true refuge.
During our time together we’ll learn to allow choiceless awareness to operate freely while loosening our pre-conceived ideas of what awareness is. We’ll also look at some of the ways we try and fabricate awareness and what it’s like when it feels like we’ve lost it. We’ll work on noticing the simple feeling of being aware and trusting that sense more deeply.
