“There is nothing ultimately to cling to in this world. However, life is not to be rejected. It is here. And as long as it is here and we are here, we can make the best use of it.”
— Dipa Ma
Pragmatic Dharma is about doing what works. Retreat practice presents a unique opportunity to do more of what works. During this Pragmatic Dharma Retreat we’ll be focused on increasing both the quality and quantity of our engaged practice together. We’ll do this by following a disciplined retreat schedule, while also giving ourselves the freedom to practice as needed–even if that sometimes means breaking with the schedule.
In terms of retreat teachings, we’ll be emphasizing these 3 ways to meditate: Concentration, Mindfulness, & Heartfulness. Taken together they form what we call “the insight chord”–a unique harmony of practices & perspectives which lead directly to liberating insight.
